Forever
Sometimes I can’t wrap my brain around the idea of “forever” and “eternity”. But then a day like today reminds me that I don’t have to fully understand it to feel its power and for my heart to know it’s real.
We were able to go to the Provo City Center Temple to do the proxy temple ordinances for Jon’s Dad, and for Jon and his sister Heidi to be sealed to their parents. We also performed the sealing ordinance for Marv to be sealed to his parents. With friends and family as witnesses, Spencer and Laura serving as proxy for Marv and Jackie, and our dear friend David Olsen officiating as the sealer, the family circle was made complete and eternal.
Yesterday Jon and I had the chance to visit Marv’s mother’s/Jon’s grandmother’s grave in Ogden. She had passed away when Marv was only 8 years old. It’s hard to fathom the grief that would have caused in his young life.

But as we visited her grave and then performed the sealing today, we felt the power of the sealing ordinance to bind and heal families and individuals. The spirit in the room was palpable and President Olsen reminded us that angels are real and can be witnesses to these sacred experiences.
This was the perfect way to begin our missionary service as we prepare to enter the MTC on Monday. I have no doubt we’ll have our angel ancestors supporting us and looking out for us.
