Your blog posts are poetic. It made me think of a welsh painting, “They Homeward Wend Their Weary Way” by Alice Havers. I’ll send you the image. It’s not as green as your photos, more like the golden hours of sunset, but reminds me of missionary work: focused, consistent, satisfying, but surely work. Some of the most exhausting days of my life, even more than young motherhood, but equally joyful (probably because I had all my kids with me).
It made me wonder if there was a definition for
“wend your way” and here’s what I found:
If you wend your way in a particular direction, you walk, especially slowly, or carefully, in that direction.
That’s us. Carefully making our way home, sometimes fresh and energetic, others, just managing to set down one foot after the other and inviting our family and friends to come along with us.
Angie, you'r so kind and your messages are just as poetic! I love that painting, thank you for sharing those insights. We will continue to wend our way!
What a beautiful post and the lovely accompanying pictures couldn’t have supported your text better. I could feel the love for England, your adventures, your mission and obviously your granddarlings. ❤️ And that hymn! I’d never heard it before and I loved it. I can’t wait to come next month and hopefully get to see some of these places!! Love to you and brave Bubba! That slide was crazy!
How delightful! Gotta love that enormous slide! Jon was brave indeed. Lovely photos & videos. 🩷🩷🩷 the sheep. Folks who haven’t travelled to UK, Ireland don’t understand the true love of those cute sheep!
When I went to work at Church HQ for FS, it absolutely felt like a mission call for me, and it was, but my CEO boss told me with a smile that it would feel a lot like work, and quickly…and he was right; but a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Are you reviewing all types of mission applications (young and seniors)?
We love the sheep too! And yes, it's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we try to remember that in the midst of the work. I do review all mission applications, both young and old. We don't have a huge number of senior missionaries going out from here, but there are lots of seniors who do local service missions and are wonderful.

These photos are spectacular!
I love everything about this post, and I love and miss you!❤️
Thank you, Lisa! I love and miss you too! I think of you often, especially when I see things that remind me of books we’ve read over the years. 💓
