This was intended to go out on Pioneer Day (July 24th—for those who might not know, it celebrates the day the first group of Mormon pioneers arrived in the Salt Lake Valley), but we’ll call it Pioneer Week.
This is mostly a quick update following Jon’s prostate procedure to let you know that “all is well”. Here’s the before picture while in the hospital room waiting for the doctor. You knew Jon would be making the experience fun!
As before, we’ll spare you the nitty gritty details and we don’t want the men in the audience cringing, but let’s just say that though his procedure wasn’t considered a surgery and they say it’s supposed to be “less invasive”, Jon would tell you that it was definitely invasive! The good news is that everything went according to plan and after a week of resting and working from home, he’s back to his regular routine at the office. We continue to be so grateful that we are here, we are connected to amazing doctors, the tumor was caught early, and the treatment was very manageable. And we’re especially grateful for the love, concern, prayers (and jokes) from friends and family which we feel all the way across the pond!
I’ll end with just some random pictures on my camera roll from our beautiful little corner of the world. Jon made the observation that watching the changing of the colors of wildflowers here every few weeks is like the “Changing of the Guard”. Such a beautiful procession of nature!

♥ Until next time, we love you! Cheerio! ♥
Words of the Week:
(Words or phrases we hear “on the street” that either delight, confuse or amuse us.)
Bless her cotton socks - an adorable British version of “bless her heart”, often said by an adorable co-worker at the office when she’s frustrated with someone but still trying to be so kind.
Brill - short for brilliant, I’ve seen it mostly in text form: “Thanks, that’s brill!”, or “brill, I’ll see you soon”.
Oh man! Sorry about the "Non-invasive" treatment!! But so glad you are doing ok! The flowers are gorgeous! We love you!!!!
The flower photos are amazing. I am jealous, that would be pure heaven!
